my proof of life 👋🏻

Three years ago I spent my birthday in nature, reflecting on how a loved one I just lost was no longer there to celebrate it with me

Being among the trees, by the water, feeling the wind on my skin really felt like a moment of connection to all those I loved that’ve transitioned over the years. I could see them in the branches swaying, hear them in the water flowing down the stream, feel them near as I let myself be fully immersed in both my sadness and simultaneous deep gratitude

That year reminded me just how inextricably linked life & death are, and really allowed me to deepen into the reminder that someone’s transition is really just that - a transition.

If we listen closely enough, if we spend just a little longer gazing up at the moon, feeling the cool air touch our cheeks, maybe we’ll get a moment to hear their gentle nudges to remind us that they’re still always here, albeit in a different form!

This was such a wonderfully aligned shoot with the most incredible people - and naturally I was overjoyed to frolic in nature and be with the goats and chickens 🌳 Everyone’s curious, playful and gentle energy will forever leave an impression in my heart!
