Part of skating is learning to fall right? 🥲

When you’re learning to drop in, whether it’s 1 foot or 9, you peer over the edge and all you can imagine is your face smashing into the concrete. It took me 30 mins of going up to the edge and backing off before I finally just cleared my head and went for it. BEST FEELINGGGG ✨

2026 is year of the analogue hobby!! 🛹
Yesterday we took over @homageskateboardacademy to host a beginner skate sesh for International Women’s day. It was an incredible evening of trying new things, falls, supporting each other, giveaways and more falls 🤪
Everyone gave it there all, it was an honour to experience!!! 🫶

This session will be a space where we can all feel comfortable falling, learning, and getting back up together.
It is for all women (including trans women) and our non-binary community. Whether you’ve never stepped on a board before or you’re still working on your push, this is for YOU.💖

Facts about being half Filipina 🇵🇭

💭I didn’t grow up speaking Tagalog, but a lot of the Filipino words I know are Ilocano, my mum’s dialect. There are over 170 languages and dialects spoken across the Philippines, which still blows my mind.

🏠My family are from near Paniqui in Tarlac, North Luzon. It’s a very farm-focused area, it's not by the ocean and it's known for rice fields and agriculture, and it’s where a lot of my roots live.

✈️I first went to the Philippines when I was three. People in Tarlac would literally stop and take photos with me because my skin was so white.

❤️‍🔥I grew up in a small, very English village. On the outside, I tried hard to fit in as western as possible, but at home I was raised Filipino. I often tell people my thinking leans western, but my heart and expression are Filipina ❤️‍🔥

🐟My favourite foods are very Ilocano and Filipino. Pinakbet, papaitan, and the classics like sinigang or danggit (dried fish) with vinegar.

👌I love eating with my hands, one foot up on the seat. I swear it makes the food taste better. It’s pure comfort.

😆I can be very unserious and use humour to get through difficult situations. A very Filipino trait.

🎤I inherited the Filipino enthusiasm for karaoke… unfortunately not the voice…WHY?!

Growing up, I struggled with my identity because of racist Asian micro-aggressions. I also felt too western to fit in in the Philippines and too asian to fit in in England. Now I fully embrace being a complex, layered person, and I’m proud to connect with and share my roots 🫶🇵🇭
