What a journey this collaboration between Eastern and Western nail cultures!

Yay!!! My entry for @nailonglobal Mixed Media Box (professional category) has landed me first place!

Here was my statement for the piece:

Inspired by Marc Jacobs’ Met Gala nails, Cardi B’s bling and Sha'Carri's olympic nails! My entry is a tribute to the bold, flashy designs that define today's nail culture, and their evolution; from 90s nail salon imagery to the modern masterpieces by celebrity nail artists like Jenny Bui.

I guess its just a pedicure bench... but to me it was a last project with my dad before he passed away and got to see Candy Nail Bar thrive...

16 years later I said goodbye to a space where we made so many memories.

Don't worry Candy is still here, just next door 😉 We can't wait to show you our new space.

Je suppose que ce n’est qu’un banc de pédicure… mais pour moi, c’était mon dernier projet avec mon père avant son décès, et il a pu voir Candy Nail Bar prospérer…

16 ans plus tard, j’ai dit au revoir à un espace où on a créé tellement de souvenirs.

Ne vous inquiétez pas, Candy est toujours là, juste à côté 😉 On a hâte de vous montrer notre nouveau local.

What was I up to in 2016?

Whats risky is allowing partners, society, friends or family make noise that cause self doubt.
